1. Does the City supply my garbage containers?

No. Residents are required to provide their own garbage containers.

2. What is an acceptable size container?

The maximum size acceptable is a 35 gallon capacity container equipped with handles and a lid. Plastic trash bags are acceptable. Containers larger than 35 gallons will not be picked up.

3. Is there a weight limit for each container and / or bundled trash?

Yes. No container and/or plastic trash bag shall exceed 50 pounds. Other items, such as, carpet, and building and construction materials must be containerized and / or tied and bundled in no longer than three foot lengths. Each tied and bound bundle shall not exceed 50 pounds.

4. When should I have my garbage at the curb for collection?

Containers are to be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on your designated collection day and removed by midnight on your collection day.

5. Can I get a special pick up for appliances and / or furniture?

Yes. Discarded appliances and furniture are to be placed at the curb and will be collected on the same day as your regular garbage. Note: A refrigerator and / or freezer must have the door removed or padlocked before it is placed at the curb for pick up.

6. What items are unacceptable for curbside collection?

Automotive parts and hazardous wastes, such as:

• Automotive batteries and fluids
• Explosives
• Fuel tanks
• Poisons and various household chemicals

7. Who do I call if my garbage and / or recycling collection is missed?

Please call the Utility Billing Department at 727-369-0690. The City's waste hauler has 24 hours to respond and collect.

8. Whom should I contact for proper disposal information of unacceptable items such as television, old paint and chemicals?
