Police Chief Haworth Announces Retirement, Captain Geissenberger Appointed New Chief

Police Chief Michael Haworth has announced his retirement from the Pinellas Park Police Department

After 33 years of dedicated service, Police Chief Michael Haworth has announced his retirement from the Pinellas Park Police Department. Chief Haworth has served with integrity, professionalism, and dedication throughout his career and his contributions to the community will be greatly missed. 

In 1990 Chief Haworth began his career with the Pinellas Park Police Department as a patrol officer. Throughout the years he has risen through the ranks serving as a Detective, Sergeant, Captain, Assistant Chief and finally, as Chief of Police. His leadership and perseverance have been instrumental in making Pinellas Park a safer and better place to work, play, and live. 

During his tenure, Chief Haworth has been committed to community policing and building positive relationships with residents. He has remained steadfast in his efforts to reduce crime and improve public safety, as well as, been a tireless advocate for the men and women of the Pinellas Park Police Department. 

“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the residents of Pinellas Park as their police chief,” said Chief Michael Haworth. “I am proud of the work we have accomplished together, and I am confident that the department will continue to serve the community with dedication and excellence.” 

Chief Haworth's last day of service will be June 30, 2023, and the community of Pinellas Park will forever be grateful for his decades of dedicated service.  

City Manager Bart Diebold has named Captain Adam Geissenberger as the next Chief of Police, following in the footsteps of Chief Haworth's distinguished legacy. 

“Chief Haworth has made a lasting impact on the Pinellas Park Police Department and the community,” said Bart Diebold, City Manager. “His commitment to reducing crime and improving public safety, as well as his advocacy for the men and women of the department is an absolute testament to his outstanding leadership.”   

"I have complete confidence in Captain Adam Geissenberger to take the reins and lead our organization forward. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, and I have no doubt he will continue to drive our success with his vision and determination. Adam's passion and dedication to our department and our profession, combined with his remarkable leadership skills, make him the ideal person to take us into the future,” said Bart Diebold.

CONGRATULATIONS to Chief Haworth on his retirement after 33 years of service to the great City of Pinellas Park & we welcome Captain Adam Geissenberger into his new role as Chief on June 30th!
