Emergency Management leads the City's mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery efforts and maintains the City’s emergency plans which provide guidance in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from natural, technological, or human-caused hazards.
The Emergency Management Coordinator serves as the City's liaison with Pinellas County Emergency Management, the State of Florida Division of Emergency Management, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Services
Develop, review and enhance the city’s disaster preparedness and recovery plans for all hazards
Operate, maintain and enhance the city’s Emergency Operations Center
Coordinate citywide response to natural and technological disasters
Coordinate citywide recovery from those disasters
Coordinate the city’s disaster response and recovery needs with county, state and federal agencies
Serve as the coordination point for federal disaster relief programs
Develop and deliver public information and educational programs about disaster preparedness
Plan, conduct and critique exercises that test and improve preparedness
