Captain Geissenberger began his career with the Pinellas Park Police Department after working for the Florida Department of Corrections and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Throughout Captain Geissenberger's 20+ years of service to this department and our community he has served in each section of the organization. His previous assignments include; youth services detective, school resource officer, vice & narcotics detective, patrol corporal, professional standards officer, patrol sergeant, records sergeant, special services sergeant and accreditation manager. In addition, Captain Geissenberger was a field training officer and a traffic homicide investigator. He served for ten years on the Tampa Bay Multi Agency Gang Task Force. In 2012, Captain Geissenberger was selected to represent our agency as Police Officer of the Year, and that same year, was promoted to sergeant.
In 2015, Captain Geissenberger was promoted to the rank of lieutenant where he served as a patrol commander. In addition to his patrol commander duties, Captain Geissenberger had additional responsibilities that included; public information officer, high liability instructor, new supervisor training manager and FTEP coordinator. Captain Geissenberger is an agency instructor in firearms, Taser, defensive tactics and emergency vehicle operations. Captain Geissenberger has received training as an accreditation manager and is an accreditation commission assessor.
Captain Geissenberger holds two master’s degrees from Troy University; a Masters in Criminal Justice and Masters in Public Administration. Captain Geissenberger is a graduate of the 266th Session of the FBI National Academy and was the president of the Senior Leadership Program, Class #21 at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Captain Geissenberger also serves on the board of directors for a national law enforcement charity organization.
Captain Geissenberger serves as the Services Division Commander providing management oversight to the Special Services Section, Communications Section, Records Section, Accreditation, Strategic Planning, Public Information, Training, Youth Services and the School Resource Officer Unit.
Captain Adam Geissenberger - Services Division Commander
Captain Russo began his career in law enforcement with the Pinellas Park Police Department in 1994, as a Patrol Officer. In 1996, he was selected to join the Department's SWAT team where he currently serves as the Team's Commander. In 1998, he was transferred to Vice/Narcotics where he served as a Detective. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2001. For six years he worked a variety of shifts while assigned to the patrol section. Captain Russo was assigned as the Vice/Narcotics supervisor in 2007. During his tenure in Vice, his section conducted countless undercover operations while also making a number of successful seizures.
In early 2012, he was assigned as the supervisor of the Special Services Section where he supervised the following sections: Crime Prevention, Youth Services, Training, and Professional Standards. Later that year, he graduated from SWAT Commander’s School through the National Tactical Officers Association.
Captain Russo was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2014, where he served as a Patrol and Special Operations Commander. He served as the Agency’s Emergency Management Coordinator for several years, and was a member of the Police Officer’s Pension Board for 10 years.
Captain Russo holds a bachelor's degree from Florida State University in Criminology and holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from Troy University. He has received the designation as a Certified Public Manager through Florida State University.
Captain Russo serves as the investigations division commander where he provided management oversight for the criminal investigations section, Vice & Narcotics and the Community Redevelopment Policing Unit and is the Internal Affairs Commander.
Captain Anthony Russo - Investigations Division Commander
Assistant Chief Unmisig began his law enforcement career with the Delray Beach Police Department in 1996 and joined the Pinellas Park Police Department in 1998. As an officer, Brian served in a variety of assignments both within the Operations Division and Services Division of the agency to include Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Traffic Officer, and Professional Standards Officer. Brian also served as a member of the Crisis Negotiation Team. In 2004, Brian earned the distinction as the Pinellas Park Police Department’s Police Officer of the Year.
Brian was promoted to Sergeant in 2004, Lieutenant in April 2015, Captain in October 2015, and Assistant Chief in 2022. He has served in supervisory assignments within the Patrol Section, Services Section, Records Section, Special Operations Section, and as a shift commander within the Patrol Section. He currently serves as the Operations Division Commander providing management oversight to the patrol section, special operations, K-9 unit, and Strategic Enforcement.
Captain Unmisig holds an Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from St. Petersburg College, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from St. Leo University, and a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Louisville. He is a graduate of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Senior Leadership Program, Class #19, and is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute’s 133rd Administrative Officer’s Course.
