Teen Volunteers

How to Apply

The minimum age to volunteer is 13 years old. 

The Volunteer Application packet includes: 

  • Affidavit of Good Moral Character which must be signed and notarized by the potential volunteer and a parent
  • Form for a Criminal History Records Check
  • Informational sheet
  • Volunteer application

 If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions, please stop by Youth Services or call 727-369-0664. 

How you can help us

  • Planning and presenting programs for teens or children with staff guidance. 
  • Creative contributions to programs such as craft preparation and creating costumes and/or props.
  • Assisting with children's programs.
  • Cleaning and organizing.
  • Shelving library materials.
  • Taking part in the library's Summer Reading Program (June and July). 

Teen Advisory Board (T.A.B.)

Responsibilities

TAB requires a high level of commitment and will help teens to gain leadership experience that will be a benefit in the workplace and on college applications. TAB members are expected to promote library services in the community through outreach events as well as play an integral role in the planning and presentation of library programs. TAB members are also encouraged to suggest new library materials. 

Meetings

Teens meet monthly with Library staff; meetings are usually held the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
