Summer Reading 2021: Tales and Tales

Thank you for your interest in our Summer Reading Program of 2021! This summer’s reading theme is “Tales and Tails.” The youth services department is excited to bring your kids and teens numerous activities to keep them from getting bored this summer. Learn about cryptids, different cultures, and animal tails and tales from around the world!  Below, you will find links to the upcoming library events and reading challenges. This summer in early literacy, Mrs. Krystal invites families to go on an interactive safari with crafts, stories, and multi-sensory learning experiences. These programs are best suited for ages 5 and under. Find out more here.
K-2 Summer Image Opens in new window
This summer the library has a number of interactive activities for grades K-2 including reading and crafts about cryptids, folklore, and different cultures. These programs are recommended for children entering grades K-2 for the 2021-2022 school year. Find out more here. 
3-5 Summer Image Opens in new window
Late elementary age students will explore the art of oral storytelling, cooking, and music this summer from around the world. These programs are best suited for children entering grades 3-5 for the 2021-2022 school year. Find out more here.

This summer the library has a number of fun, hands-on activities for children in grades 6 and up. Visit the library to do crafts, pick up books, and decorate cupcakes. Find out more here. 
Chapter Loot Summer Image
ChapterLoot is a new subscription program for teens. Each month, teens can drop by the library to pick up a box of their choice. Each box comes with a free book (to keep!), snacks, and swag. Find out more here.
