Amelia Zimmerman - Senior Youth Services Librarian

I specialize in art programs that require glitter. My favorite YA author is probably either Rainbow Rowell or Holly Black.

Krystal French - Early Childhood Librarian

Ms. Krystal has worked at the Barbara S. Ponce Library since 2001. Using her Early Childhood and Elementary Education background, she has enjoyed creating and presenting storytimes and programs for families and for all ages from birth to 5th grade. In January of 2017, she became our first Early Childhood Librarian. It is very hard for her to choose just one favorite children’s author but Karma Wilson is definitely one of them!

Sam May - Tween/Teen Librarian

I joined the BSPL team in July 2022 and am so excited to work with our teens to create programs. I am especially interested in world history and events. My favorite middle grade and YA author is Kacen Callander.

I've been working with kids my whole life and in the youth department of this library for a year.  My favorite children's book authors are Don and Audrey Wood who wrote and illustrated The Napping House and The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear.  I specialize in early literacy development.

Peggy Matthes - Library Assistant

I have a Bachelors of Arts degree in Graphic Design and a great love for arts and crafts and outdoor learning. As a mom I've spent nine years as a volunteer parent in my daughter's school library organizing the bi-annual Scholastic book fairs. I've been a Girl Scout troop leader for eight years and have been in charge of creating and implementing youth programs for grades K - 12.  My favorite children's author is Julia Donaldson.
